The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque stands as the crown jewel of Abu Dhabi, captivating visitors worldwide with its awe-inspiring architectural beauty. It ranks as the third largest mosque in the world, covering an area equivalent to four football fields. With a capacity to accommodate 40,000 worshippers, it is also home to the world’s largest hand-woven carpet and chandelier, both of which are featured in the Guinness World Records. Named after Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE’s first president and ruler of Abu Dhabi, the mosque is not only a cultural and spiritual symbol but also serves as his final resting place, as he was buried in the mosque’s courtyard following his death in 2004.
